    Gen II Stribog Scorpion Lower

Posted by John on Nov 14th 2024

Awesome upgrade to the Stribog. Running this on a recent production SP9 A3. Fit and finish on it is awesome. No problems running factory, Magpul(stick and drum), PGS, and AKV mags with it. All fed and ejected 100%. The AKV and PGS mags are a little tight but none of the mags required modification to fit and run. Can confirm on mine that both a Geissele S3G and Geissele SSA ran perfectly. I ordered the ILWT takedown pins which make disassembly easy. I highly recommend this product!

    Bolt Catch/Release could be better

Posted by Tom on Oct 16th 2024

Lower is functionally excellent and the improved ergonomics of AR controls is well worth the upgrade. However, there are some minor things to take note of, none of them really affect functionality but should be mentioned. 1. The fitment to the upper and HBI stock adapter is pretty loose, I understand that the tolerance for factory uppers and aftermarket parts can drastically vary so its impossible to make an exact fit but its looser than the worse AR receiver combo I've ever handled. Luckily, there's a tension screw just like most AR lowers but you can only get it so tight before the receivers pin bind up and make disassembly impossible. I've also seen others make a shim from a soda can to get rid of the slop. 2. The bolt catch/release is super easy to use and barely requires any force to release the bolt unlike the factory one. Its also much easier to reach. The plastic release on either side of the receiver is 3d printed and has an pretty loose fit to the receiver and is pretty sloppy, you can jiggle the release in any direction and it'll move around a good bit. I do wish the entire bolt catch/release mechanism was made of metal, only part #5 is made of aluminum, the rest is 3d printed and for the price of this receiver, I do believe it should be all metal. The 3d printed parts aren't of the highest quality either, you can tell it was printed quickly with a big nozzle. 3. Machine and tooling marks can be found inside the magazine well area, its not the cleanest machining and you can see the "aliasing" on sloped surfaces but nowhere near the worst so its average in that regard. Externally, you cant see any so they did a good job on the outside. All the edges are chamfered so there are no sharp corners or edges so big kudos on that. I would still highly recommend this lower as again, none of these complaints affects functionality and the improved ergonomics of AR controls and grip is highly worth it.

    Amazing fit and finish

Posted by Shawn Fraser on Apr 23rd 2024

The overall feel of this lower is a huge step up over the OEM polymer. Being able to run AR drop-in triggers and grips has been a huge upgrade for my Stribog and the little bit extra for an aluminum lower instead of polymer feels well worth it. The built in bolt release very ergonomic and feels better/quicker that the factory lever style. Running a 3lb Timney AR PCC trigger and all other parts are strike industries and the finished product just feels like the grown-up version of the Stribog, like it just wasn’t matured all the way from the factory yet.

GEN 2 STRIBOG SCORPION LOWER Rating

Posted by Justin Stallard on Oct 30th 2023

Great fit and finish! I feel like it elevates the Stribog well beyond the A3 lower I bought for it previously. The new bolt release is a nice touch as well. I am very pleased with my purchase.

    Outstanding Upgrade for Stribog

Posted by Brandon on Sep 16th 2023

I installed this Gen 2 lower on a new SP9A3S and it completely changed the look and feel of the platform. The updated bolt catch is brilliant, completely negating the need for the odd OEM bolt catch spring that becomes bent so easily. Before purchasing this lower, I had tried a competitor's polymer lower and experienced a number of issues with both fit and function. The Lingle lower had none of these issues, plus its design and fabrication is miles ahead of the competition. My round count with this lower is still low (only a couple hundred), but I have had zero issues so far. Don't hesitate to buy this lower, the thoughtful design and quality construction are worth every penny!

    Great Lower

Posted by Jerry on Nov 3rd 2021

This lower is a quality upgrade. I have ran near a 1000 rounds with no issues. Prior to the 1000 rounds I was having issues that were my fault. Before I even shot this lower I replaced the magazine release with a Tandemkross Scorpion Magazine Release. After much trouble shooting with Luke it appears to be a geometry issue with the Tandemkross release. I reached out to TandemKross and they stated that it likely does not work because their magazine release is modeled off of a gen 1 scorpion and was not compatible with gen 2 scorpions. I was able to confirm that the magazine release did differ in geometry by around .020" Based on the geometry of the geometry it is easy to see that the Lingle Lowers are gen 2 scorpion magazine release geometry. Removing the TK magazine release and replacing with the factory strike industries lower fixed all of my self made issues. I have had success with the Gear Head Works scorpion magazine release. Overall, I have about 200 rounds on the Strike industries magazine release and 800 on the Gear head works magazine release with zero issues. I would highly recommend this lower. If you are on the fence, just do it. The gen 2 bolt catch design is a much better design than the factory Stribog.
